If motion handling is important to you, and it should be, a plasma TV is still the best technology on the planet for good motion handling. Also a late model high end plasma will produce a better picture quality than any high end 4k LCD. Plasma just like OLED has self illuminating pixels, each pixel is essentially a tiny light. LCD uses a backlit screen, basically a big flashlight shines through all of the pixels at once. Plasma will have better colors, black level, way better contrast and motion handling than even the best LCDs.

As for not being able to distinguish the pixels from 3 and a half feet maybe for you but for myself I can see the difference from even 7 feet away. I can see that some lines are not as jagged. But it is one of those things that I look for. HDMI 2.0a? We are at HDMI 2.1. Also getting a cheaper television of the same resolution is not always a good idea unless you do not care. I have purchased several different 4K televisions and have noticed pixilation throughout many cheaper models during dark scenes.

Tv wise there isn’t anymore 1080p tvs to get. Maybe 1% left. Now the biggest factors are lighting and different processing chips that are used. A tv with a very good lighting will make a hell of a difference especially if it has a good chip that can upscale and handle everything well. Basically cheap 4K TVs have shitty lighting and shitty processors. But they’re cheap. The more higher end expensive tvs cost more because of the better lighting and processing. You’ll see a huge difference. And if you don’t then get the cheap one since it doesn’t matter to you.
